Daily Kayak Adventure to Mechrey $75pp min 2 people
At 7:30am you will be picked up by our traditional Cambodian Tuk Tuk, which will then transfer you to the secret floating village on the great Tonle Sap Lake. Our journey begins by travelling through the beautiful rice paddies and witnessing the daily lifestyles of the local people along the way (approx. 40 mins) before arriving at the boat dock. Here we will board a small local fishing boat which will take us to the amazing secret floating village for your amazing kayaking adventure. On arrival, you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink. We then transfer to the kayaks and gently paddle through the local fishing community, seeing how the locals that live on the lake permanently go about their daily life, fishing, net repairs, local floating shops, floating schools and a visit to the local pagoda where you can have a blessing by the monks (approx. 40 mins), you will be amazed as you kayak gently through this floating village where you will be welcomed by warming smiles from the beautiful Cambodian people who live on this fantastic lake or you can cruise on the boat through the village if you don’t want to kayak. We then relax and have a delicious lunch cooked by a village chef for approx. 50 mins.
Your kayak adventure continues
We then transfer again back onto the fishing boat, for a quick 15 mins cruise through the beautiful lake, you will be able to take pictures of rare birds and wildlife, to the secret flooded forest, where we will switch back to the kayaks for an unforgettable adventure through the flooded forest mangroves. We will continue through the flooded forest for approx. 1 hr and be met by the fishing boat for our trip back through the floating village to the boat dock. We then travel back to Siem reap in our Tuk Tuk for arrival at approx. 3pm. Our professionally trained guide will be able to explain the local customs on how the local people live, work, and trade.
